Nathan the Tummy Sleeper Turns 4 Months Old

YAY - Nathan got to meet Uncle Jason this past week as he was in town for some business.  Nathan really enjoyed Uncle Jason's funny faces and noises that he makes!

WOW WOW WOW!!!  Nathan turned 4 months old this past week!  Where does the time go?!?!  This is a cute picture that we took of him on his 4 month birthday.  Daddy has been teaching him how to blow his lips and as you can see from the picture above he's getting the hang of it!  Let's see...what has our little guy done this week?!?!  Well, on his 4 month birthday he celebrated by rolling from his back to his front while he was on his tummy time mat and then he did it later that day in his crib during nap time.  He mastered rolling over to his right side and then on Thursday he decided to try the other side which he also mastered.  He's so into rolling over that he now thoroughly enjoys doing it while on his changing table and while in the tub.  This makes things quite exciting for mommy and daddy!  Also, for the first time, Nathan let out a nice big cry when mommy took something away from him (her nasty purse strap that he watned to chew on).  Other big news this week is that he slept on his tummy all night long for the first time Sunday night!  We asked his pediatrician if he had any concerns about this and his response was "not really, but if it would make you more comfortable to have him sleep on his back go ahead and duck tape him to the mattress" - HA!

Now that he's 4 months old he got bold and pet our kitty, Hobbes, on his very own.  Hobbes didn't seem too interested in being pet by the newest member of our family.  After a few strokes Hobbes gave Nathan a displeasing look and jumped off the chair.

We were able to capture on film Nathan petting Baxter (ok, he's not exactly petting him in this picture - more like yanking on him).  Thank God that Baxter is so gentle natured!

Check out Nathan's cool new socks that Grandma Pratt sent him compliments of Shanna (cousin Kyle's fiance).  They have fun faces on the toes and they rattle when he kicks his feet.  He has been having fun with these!

Nathan's friend of the week was this cute little bunny rabbit.  He really enjoyed the bunny's nice long ears...they make for a good sucking toy!

Isn't this so cute?  It's a little onesie from Great Aunt Sandy and it says "Sweet Pea" on it, which is what he is!  We had a bit of a warm spell last week and he was able to sport some short sleeves again!

Geez - is he overtaking the bear or what?!?!

Gummy Bear at the Pumpkin Patch

We nicknamed our little guy "Gummy Bear" this week because he loves to gum on your fingers and knuckles!  We tried giving him one of his frozen chew toys but he wasn't a big fan of it at all.  However, this week he did start chewing on his tongue which seems to bring him hours of enjoyment!

This is Nathan's new hat from Bubbee.  As she said, now he can look just like his daddy this winter.  Isn't it SO ADORABLE?!?!?

Nathan's friend of the week was Piglet.  As with his most recent friends, he enjoys gnawing on their ears (or nose or arm or leg...basically whatever he can get into his mouth)!  Nathan made nice with another friend this week...he pet Baxter all by himself!  It was so sweet - Nathan was sitting on my lap on the couch and Baxter came up and stood in front of us.  Nathan reached up and actually pet Baxter's face and then he ran his hand along Baxter's jowls and then wrapped his hand around Baxter's nose.  Baxter was so sweet and gentle but once Nathan was done grabbing Baxter's nose, Baxter went ahead and licked his hand like crazy (don't worry Grandmas, I was sure to wash Nathan's hand thoroughly)!

Here is Nathan sporting his newest wardrobe addition...some big boy jeans!

Doesn't this face just make you laugh?!?!?  Mommy always tells Nathan that he's so cute even when he's crying.  I've been wanting to get the fat, pouty lip on camera for quite a while now and I finally captured it.

We went to Eckert's Pumpkin Patch today with Grandma and Grandpa Krestel & "Aunt" Hanna.  It was a gorgeous day!  Enjoy a bunch of pictures below of our time there.

Nathan's first tractor ride!

And as always, his bear picture!

HA HA!

The title of this week's blog may have tipped you off...Nathan laughed for the first time!  Mommy was out with some friends on Thursday night and daddy was home with Nathan and while he was on the changing table he laughed for daddy!  Mommy has been trying to get him to do it again all week but he just won't give away any more laughs!  However, he has been real sweet with mommy and touching her face a lot (oh, and also getting fistfulls of my hair...and pulling...hard)!  Below is a sweet picture of our sleeping prince (we can't believe how much of his crib he's taking up now).

Nathan has also been very active this past week - he loves to kick and splash while he's in the tub.   Speaking of baths, he went pee pee while daddy was getting him out of the tub this morning.  I told daddy it was nice of Nathan to wait until the end because, if you recall, when I was bathing him a few weeks ago he did it right as I was putting him in the tub.

Nathan also tried jumping while I was holding him up so I think we'll have to consider getting him a jumper once he has more control of his head (it still bobbles from time to time).  He also kept rolling from his tummy to his back during "tummy time."  Check out the picture below as he's about to go timber!

Here are a few more pictures of tummy time - the first one is my FAVORITE - doesn't it look like he's praying?!?!

The next picture is of Nathan reading his favorite book, Fuzzy Bee, during tummy time.  We prop this up in front of him so that he works on lifting his chest with his arms.

And last, but not least, the bear picture...

Addition to Nathan's Nursery Decor

How cool does this look!?!?!  Nathan's newest addition to his room, compliments of Grandma Pratt (they're paper mache and she just painted them - how fun!)

Our little cutie!  His outfit says "Daddy's All Star" and "Property of Mommy" - don't you love the little footies with laces and everything!?!?  What a cute smile he's sporting (pun intended)!

Nathan's stuffed animal for this week - he really loves the blankie attached to the bear!

Mommy and Daddy went to a wedding on Sunday and left Nathan with Grandma and Grandpa Krestel (he was a good little boy and actually slept most of the time - they didn't get a stroller ride in or anything)!

Nathan looking all grown up in his little rubgy shirt.

What beautiful blues our baby has!

The look on his face just cracks us up!
