Week 38
Hi everyone! Well, we're 12 days away from our official due date! I had an appointment today and I'm still dilated to 1cm - but we're just waiting patiently. I'm still feeling great and sleeping great, so I'm in no rush! My doc knows how important it is to me to let me body do what God made it to do and not have any kind of intervention, so she told me that if I don't go by my due date she'll do an ultrasound to check the amniotic fluid level and if baby is still safe and sound she'll let me go a week or so past my due date. I'm so thankful that this prayer of ours is being honored!
Kevan is convinced that we'll make it through the weekend, so we'll see about that! We've been getting a lot of couch time in and catching up on a bunch of movies that we've had DVR'd for a while now - it's been really relaxing!
One fun/new development is that I've felt Junebug hiccuping A LOT! It's like I've got a little earthquake in my belly!
I've got another appointment next Tuesday morning with the 3rd partner in the practice (I haven't met her yet but Kev knows her from his pharmaceutical rep days and says she's really nice). I appreciate that they have you meet all the docs so that you'll know whoever ends up delivering you! If we make it until then be on the lookout for another post from me. Otherwise, the next post will be from Daddy and Junebug!

Today's doctor's visit
I also had another non-stress test today and things looked great! The nurse couldn't get over all the contractions I was having. She asked if I could feel them and I said yes but that they didn't seem too intense. She said I really need to start monitoring them and make sure I get myself to the hospital once they're lasting 1 minute long and are 5 minutes apart. She said I could go either tomorrow or a few weeks from now, it just depends what my body decides to do. This is a very hard thing for a type-A personality like myself to handle. But, Kevan and I know that God knows the day, hour, minute and second that Junebug will arrive into the world and His timing is always perfect, so we need to just focus on that!
Well, we're off to the mall to find some cute quilt hangers for the boy or girl bedding comforter that we're going to use as a wall hanging! Cheers!

Week 37
Happy week 37 everyone! I don't think I reported the details of my OB visit from last Tuesday. I was dilated 1cm and 80% effaced. Baby was weighing 5 lbs. 3 oz; my doctor thinks we'll be having a 6 pounder; which sounds good to me! We've got another appointment tomorrow and we're excited to see what kind of progress we've made. The nursery is finally ready for Junebug with all of the clothes washed and put into the appropriate dresser drawers. I love the organization!! Grandma Pratt bought her plane ticket today and is scheduled to be here from the 20th through the 28th! The great thing is that if Junebug makes an early or late arrival, she can change her ticket at a moments notice with no extra charge! Yeah! Also, this past weekend Kevan did a 5k run with a buddy and I walked the same distance with his friend's wife. I thought Junebug was going to fall right out after walking so far, but I felt great afterward!
We watched the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD tonight (thanks Grandma Krestel). The techniques seem easy enough (the 5 S's...Swaddling, Side or Stomach Lying, Shushing, Swinging, and Sucking), so we are hoping that Junebug is the happiest baby on Eulalie Avenue! Time will tell!
Keep your eyes peeled for another post this week with the details from our OB appointment tomorrow.
