Junebugs: Dog Days of Summer

Since we've had such a HOT summer, what better way to enjoy it than with a little fun with the water table that Mommy and Daddy got Nathan for his birthday. Both Nathan and Baxter enjoyed it...

While Baxter was busy drinking (and slobbering), Nathan was busy splishing...

And splashing...

Nathan on his 13 month birthday...what a pose! This is actually his kissing face. Speaking of kissing, I'm happy to announce that Nathan gives closed mouth kisses instead of open mouth slobbery kisses. Earlier this month he kissed his kitty, Hobbes, on the head right between the ears and his doggy, Baxter, right on the nose! Although Nathan likes giving his pets kisses, they're not too hip on it.

Before Grandma had to start back to school for the year she came to spend a fun day with us...

Nathan really enjoyed going back and forth between the water table and the swimming pool that Grandma and Grandpa got him for his birthday...

Ah yes, Nathan is still simply mesmerized with his hands...

Mommy reading Nathan a book before nap time (and yes, that is a trash bag over his blinds - we wanted to try this cheap homemade version of room darkening shades to see if they really worked before purchasing some)...

We don't know where Nathan came up with this crazy little face but this is his most recent antic...

He does it quite often either to be silly...

Or to fake a cry (he'll even open one eye to make sure you're watching him)...

I'll tell you, this little sweetie always has us in stitches...

The hot summer also brought Nathan's first taste of a popsicle...

He wasn't too excited at first...

We think the coldness threw him off...

And although he was hesitant to make his final ruling...

In the end, he was a fan...

July also brought Aunt Hanna's birthday. Here she is playing with Nathan's drumset...

...and a visit from Uncle Jason and we got to celebrate his birthday with him! Nathan got dressed up for the occasion (notice his t-shirt with a picture of a collar and tie)...

And he even gave Uncle Jason a birthday kiss...

Nathan started dancing in July. It started out in the kitchen while playing with his Leap Frog vehicle magnet set - he started bobbing up and down to the music and then started stomping his feet like he was marching in place. He just loves to dance and has even taken to chair dancing...
