We kicked off this past week with Nathan's 4 month doctor's appointment. He weighed in at 13 lbs. 4 oz (15% ile) and 24 3/4 inches (39% ile). Looks like he'll be tall and thin like daddy!
Nathan's buddy for the week was this adorable Dumbo wrist rattle from cousin Tammy and Carter. He really enjoyed shaking this and would actually leave it on his wrist for long stretches of time!
WHAT A CUTIE!!!!!!! This is his big boy sweater for chilly days (of which we had a few last week). We're curious if he'll be like daddy and enjoy winter or if he'll be like mommy and love summer!
Nathan is getting good control of his chubby little legs and feet and he just loves to kick kick kick! This past week he was making some HUGE splashes in the tub and he got mommy so soaking wet (seriously...I had to towel off after HIS bath) that we decided this would be his last bath in his little froggy tub on the kitchen counter! Next bath day we tried our friend's "tummy tub" - those crazy Aussies come up with some wild stuff! Nathan really enjoyed curling up and re-living his days in the womb but mommy found it hard to wash him all scrunched up. Daddy wasn't a big fan of it at all but we agreed that Nathan sure looked cute in it and so this will serve as his little hot tub - maybe some fun for his off-bath days! So, we've now advanced to putting his froggy tub in our tub and Nathan can splash all he wants without covering the kitchen cabinets!
We finally took Nathan to visit Grandma Krestel at work this past week and she got to show him off. Here's a picture of Nathan at Grandma's clinic (note her adorable screen saver!!!)
This week Nathan slept with his butt up in the air and it was too precious. We tried to get some good pictures of it but it was quite a challenge (I still can't believe that the night flash doesn't wake him)! You'll notice in the second picture that he's getting pretty bald on the center and left side of his head. The center has been balding for a while from sleeping on his back but now that he sleeps on his tummy he usually lays with his left side down on the mattress and he's rubbing off all his hair. In the last shot above you can see that he still has his crazy hair sticking up in the back. As GreatLee said, it's his trademark!
We decided to celebrate the Fall by carving some pumpkins (I love to toast the seeds) and of course Nathan had to have his very own specialized pumpkin! Daddy's pumpkin is on the left and mommy's is on the right.
On a gross sidenote, Nathan spit up ON daddy's face this past weekend! That's right, daddy was lifting him up in the air and Nathan spit up all over Kevan's face!
Yay for the Dumbo rattle! Nay for spit-up on Daddy's face! Love you all so much!
